MECO patented and developed Vapor Compression technology in 1939. One of the early military applications was the first seawater desalination plants for the U.S. Army used during WWII in the Pacific Theater.

Over the years, MECO has developed this technology to produce potable and high purity water for military requirements and for other industries, such as the biopharmaceutical market for the production of ultrapure water.

MECO's past performance is characterized by more than 60 years of experience in government contracting for the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines and numerous Armed Forces and government agencies worldwide. Beginning with our original product development work in thermal desalination, our product offering has expanded to include technologies that encompass membrane processes, such as Ultrafiltration and Reverse Osmosis. Clients also rely on MECO for related thermal processes, including Heat Transfer products such as heat exchangers for nuclear submarines and destroyers.
