Design verification is planned, performed and documented to ensure that the design development outputs have satisfied the related input requirements.

Design verification includes the following:

  • Review of design stage documents before release.


  • Validation of accuracy and completeness of calculations as well as performance of alternative calculations when required.


  • Comparison of proposed designs with similar proven designs.


  • Assignment of qualified drawing checkers. Also ensures that drawing checking is completed.


  • Review of design output documentation after changes have been made to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with design output.


  • Documented certification and approval of all design output.
